Şiteks, the group's first company, is Şişmanlar Tekstil San. ve Tic. A.Ş., meeting the felt needs of various sectors with 50,000 square meters of enclosed space and 220,000 m² of open area in Tekirdağ Saray. In addition to original raw materials, the facility — built around a strong environmental philosophy — processes and recovers textile waste using modern machinery.

Şiteks' certified felts can be produced from 300 gr/m2 to 3500 gr/m2, in thicknesses from 3 mm to 100 mm, and in the required dimensions. The hardness of the product is adjusted by processing different raw materials according to the order's intended use. With its new investment, Şiteks is one of the largest felt manufacturers in Europe and Turkey. Şiteks felts are also used as a semi-finished material in other factories under the Hassan Group of Companies

Hassan Group, which operates in many sectors, consists of 8 separate companies: Şiteks, Hassan, Telasis, Catsis, Pelsan, and Merkas.

ŞİTEKS, which holds the distinction of being the first company established and the sector's first manufacturer, continues its operations with Production in Tekirdağ Saray and its Head Office in İstanbul Levent Apa Giz Plaza.

By turning textile waste into products, Şiteks contributes both to the environment and to the Turkish economy; its products are used as semi-finished goods in the following areas.

• Natural cotton and wool felts; available in the desired thickness, in rolls or cut pieces, combined with synthetic jute and nonwoven — in the mattress and furniture sector.

• Mouldable, laminable, cuttable and insulating — in the automotive and home-appliance sector.

• Heat-resistant, sound-insulating and non-flammable — in the construction sector.

• Providing comfort, insulation and long service life — as carpet underlay felt.
